Key Insights from Data Collection in Nepal’s TB Patient Cost Survey
Field researchers from PERC shared valuable insights into the lessons learned, facilitators, and challenges encountered during data collection for the first National Tuberculosis Patient Cost Survey conducted in Nepal.
The discussion covered experiences from collecting patient data in selected clusters, including health facilities, extracting information from registers, and leveraging the sampling frame provided through the DHIS2 Tracker. The researchers highlighted the critical role of support from provincial governments, local governments, and health facilities in ensuring the smooth execution of planned activities.
This session also provided an opportunity to reflect on the strategies employed—analyzing what worked well and identifying areas for improvement to enhance the execution of fieldwork for large, multi-stage cluster surveys. Such reflections aim to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of future planned activities.
