PERC’s Participation in SORT IT (Structured Operational Research Training Initiative)
Our team lead, Rachana Shrestha, participated in the SORT IT training in Sri Lanka. SORT IT is designed to equip public health professionals with the practical skills necessary to conduct and publish research, while promoting evidence-informed decision-making. The training consists of three key modules: protocol writing, quality-assured data capture and analysis, and manuscript writing for publication. Since its inception in July 2012, The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease and MSF have partnered with WHO-TDR, establishing the SORT IT programme to build the capacity of public health professionals, particularly in countries facing major communicable disease outbreaks and rising non-communicable disease epidemics. PERC values participation in such training initiatives and collaborations to strengthen the skills of its staff in generating high-quality evidence for informed actions.
