Pioneering Digital Transformation: From Paper-Based to Tablet-Based HIV Surveillance in Nepal
Biological and Behavioral Surveillance (BBS) surveys are essential for tracking key indicators among populations at higher risk of HIV, including people who inject drugs, men who have sex with men, transgender individuals, sex workers, and migrants. To enhance data quality and reduce costs, the PERC team provided technical expertise in developing apps for tablet-based data collection. This innovation improved the efficiency of Integrated Biological and Behavioral Surveillance (IBBS) surveys.
The project was supported financially by Save the Children International Nepal and the National Centre for AIDS and STD Control, under the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal, in 2012.
