Unlocking the Epidemic with Key Populations

Mrs. Rachana Shrestha, Team Lead at PERC, presented at the 9th IAS Conference on HIV Science (IAS 2017), held in Paris, France, from July 23–26, 2017. Her presentation focused on the behavioral, psychosocial, and structural factors associated with the non-utilization of HIV testing and counseling (HTC) services among key populations. Mrs. Shrestha emphasized the critical need for psychosocial and structural interventions to be integrated with HIV prevention programs. These measures are essential to support key populations in accessing HIV testing, a crucial step toward achieving the first 95 target (ensuring that 95% of people living with HIV know their status) under UNAIDS’ global goals.
