Rachana Shrestha has completed  Master's of Science in International Health (2012-2014) from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Bergen, Norway. She has worked in various positions for the different institutions in Nepal for implementing reproductive health-related projects.

She has been awarded the 2012 Pearson Fellowship for Social Innovation, Canada. She has received Structured Operational Research and Training Initiative (SORT IT) Scholarship, managed by The Union, South-East Asia Regional Office. She also received a full scholarship to present abstract at 9th IAS Conference on HIV Science (IAS 2017)  in Paris, France. Her research interest focus on the understanding barriers faced by socioeconomically disadvantaged women in accessing reproductive health services.
