I am a faculty member of Biostatistics in the Department of Community Medicine in a renowned medical college in Kathmandu, Nepal.
My career objective is to contribute towards public health research in Nepal by applying both public health and statistical principles besides teaching statistics and research in the formal and informal forums. I have been awarded with PhD degree from University of Gothenburg, Sweden in 2014 for pioneering community based study of smoking susceptibility among Nepalese adolescents. Prior to concluding my PhD, I had completed my M.Sc. in Statistics from Tribhuvan University in 1999, since then, I have involved in several research projects related to Public Health including Cardiovascular Diseases, Tobacco and HIV.
My real interest is in research, and I am a professional to advance statistics like data modeling including factor analysis, structural modeling, survival analysis, and so on. I have received trainings on statistics and on public health including cardiovascular epidemiology in Nepal and in international academia in Europe and in USA. I have been providing my expertise as a freelance consultant in government organizations, and in national and international non-government organizations. At present, I am working on a research on nicotine dependence on my own interest.
I constitute a team member in the International Collaborative Research in Nepal. I am also a member of the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco, USA.
