Dr. Keshab Deuba holds a MMSc with a specialization in Epidemiology and a Ph.D. in Public Health from the Department of Global Public Health at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. His career is centered on health policy and system research, focusing on strengthening surveillance, research, and evaluation in the realm of communicable diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis, as well as other significant global public health challenges like mental health and gender-based violence in low- and middle-income countries. He has amassed over a decade of experience working with international development organizations, universities, and UN agencies.

Currently, Dr. Deuba serves as an associated researcher at the Department of Global Public Health in Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. He has been honored with several awards, fellowships, and scholarships, including a research fellowship from the Göran Sterky Foundation, a grant from the International AIDS Society, a research apprenticeship from the Netherlands Development Organization, and the 2015/2016 scholarship to attend the Swedish Research School for Global Health. His recent work focuses on improving access to public health interventions and analyzing public health issues affecting vulnerable populations such as violence survivors, people living with HIV, sexual and gender minorities, sex workers and people who use drugs. This includes exploring the social and structural determinants, designing and evaluating peer-led interventions, and assessing psychosocial health problems and their consequences in Nepal and other diverse regions. Dr. Deuba possesses extensive expertise in strengthening information systems in low- and middle-income countries and promoting the use of data from routine health facilities, utilizing various free software like DHIS2, to support evidence-informed responses. As an advisor at Public Health and Environment Research Centre (PERC), he guides the team in conceptualizing and designing interventions and provides technical support in managing surveys, research, and evaluations of public health-related projects.
